Some lovely things...

Some lovely things from :

Drowsing, Half-Faithful
Geoffrey Hill
.........................................................................................
What is there in my heart that you should sue so fiercely for its love? What kind of carebrings you as though a stranger to my doorthrough the long night and in the icy dew

seeking the heart that will not harbour you, that keeps itself religiously secure? At this dark solstice filled with frost and fireyour passion's ancient wounds much bleed anew.

So many nights the angel of my househas fed such urgent comfort through a dream, whispered "your lord is coming, he is close"

that I have drowsed half-faithful for a timebathed in pure tones of promise and remorse:"tomorrow I shall wake to welcome him."

On Sunday they cheered for him; on Friday theykilled him. "They." What about us?

A Great Tide of Joy and Peace
Malcolm Muggeridge
.......................................................................................

Dr. Christiaan Barnard's first heart-transplant operations, which caused so much excitement at the time, seemed to hold out the hope of replacing our parts as they wore out, and thus of keeping us on the road indefinitely, like old vintage cars. New hearts, kidneys, genitals, brain-boxes even, installed as and when required...

The resultant immortal beings would have no occasion to be raised from the dead as Lazarus was. Nor would Jesus' wonderful words about being the resurrection and the life have any significance. For them, there was no dying, and therefore no rising from the dead. Nor will those who dream of living without dying be attracted by, or even comprehend, the notion of dying in order to live.

Yet as I approach my own end, I find Jesus' outrageous claim to be, himself, the resurrection and the life, ever more captivating and meaningful. Quite often, waking up in the night as the old do, and feeling myself to be half out of my body, I have been vouchsafed a glimpse of what lies ahead. So placed, I hear those words: I am the resurrection and the life - and feel myself to be carried along on a great tide of joy and peace.

My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. ~(Proverbs 3:11-12 )~

ARROZ CON HUEVOS

Please don't make fun of me!,but I do love cooking(maybe,lucky my wife!Lol)
Here is an article about haw to make Arroz de jitomate(A mexican food),I really suggest it!

(Makes 2 to 4 servings)

1 cup water
1/2 cup rice
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt, optional
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
2 tablespoons bottled taco sauce or salsa
1/2 cup chopped tomato
4 eggs
1/4 cup (1 oz.) shredded reduced-fat Cheddar cheese

In medium saucepan stir together water, rice, onion, garlic and salt, if desired. Cover. Over high heat, bring to boiling. Reduce heat to keep water simmering. About 10 minutes before rice is done (check rice package for total cooking time needed), stir in green pepper and taco sauce. Re-cover and cook until rice is tender, about 10 minutes longer. Stir in tomato. Remove from heat, cover and keep warm while poaching eggs.
In saucepan or deep omelet pan, bring 2 to 3 inches of water to boiling. Reduce heat to keep water gently simmering. Break cold eggs, 1 at a time, into custard cup or saucer or break several into bowl. Holding dish close to water’s surface, slip eggs, 1 by 1 into water. Cook until whites are completely set and yolks begin to thicken but are not hard, about 3 to 5 minutes. With slotted spoon, lift out eggs. Drain in spoon or on paper towels and trim any rough edges, if desired.
To serve, spoon 1/4 (1/2) of the reserved rice mixture onto each of 4 (2) plates. Top each with 1 (2) of the poached eggs, sprinkle each egg with 1 tablespoon of the cheese.

Shooting History

Shooting is one of my favorite sports,Here is a short history of it:

Some form of Shooting has been around since prehistoric times, when men hunted prey to secure food or protect themselves from enemies. The ancient Greeks had dove-shooting contests in honour of their gods. By the 10th century, Indians, Slavs, Celts and Germans all practiced similar kinds of rituals. The invention of gunpowder provided great impetus to the sport, for it led to the development of the gun. The founding of Shooting clubs started in numerous European towns - in Germany and Switzerland, as early as the 13th and 14th centuries.
Little by little, Shooting as a sport became very popular; 1907 saw the creation of what is known today as the International Shooting Sport Federation, originally called the International Shooting Union. Men’s Shooting was one of the nine sports on the programme of the first Olympic Games of modern times in Athens in 1896. In the Paris Games in 1900, live pigeons were used as moving targets; this was eventually considered unethical and unsporting, so after 1900 the pigeons were replaced with clay targets (‘clay pigeons’). The women’s Shooting disciplines were first included in the Los Angeles 1984 Games.
Greece’s first Olympic victories came in 1896. The medallists were: Georgios Frangoudis (pistol, 25 m, gold; rifle, 300 m, silver); Georgios Orfanidis (rifle, 300 m, gold; pistol, 25 m, silver); Pantelis Karasevdas (gras gun, 200 m, gold); and P. Pavlidis (gras gun, 200 m, silver).
At the Mid-Olympics of 1906, there was a gold medal for Konstantinos Skarlatos (precision pistol, 25 m); silvers for I. Perridis (trap) and An. Metaxas (double trap); and three bronzes, for G.Skotadis and A.Rhangavis (revolver, 25 m). The one success of the Greek delegation at the 1920 Games was a silver medal for revolver. The Hellenic Shooting Federation (SKOE) was founded in 1932.

Thanks to God...

My Green Home is on the highlands of our city.I live with my parents;maybe some days I move away by a new family or going to another city for some reasons, but being with family is always my life's energy.

Thanks to God,I have a tight family that has always been there for me.

This house has a beautiful garden,in wich there are flower vases around. The two lamp rods are blockaded by ascendant roses, one by white roses & another by pinks. There are two flower_beds,in wich different kinds of flowers and fruit trees live.In the middle of this sweet paradise, there is a big blue pool, that is a territory for 8 lovely, naughty fishes.

Thanks to God in spite of loving basketball, shooting & soccer I can enjoy poetically things too!!

Some afternoons,we drink our teas or coffees there,(however, I'm usually absent!)Sometimes I stretch on it's bench & fix my eyes on the sky, then I feel the sun is shining more beautiful than anywhere else.

Thanks to God,for seeing,feeling & recognizing.

The entrance door of this dreamy house looks like a gate, & by getting in, I enter another world. There is somewhere else in our house, wich is always attractive for me:The housetop.
In the end of night, when there is a pure silence & darkness;I remain with tones of starry, memoryfull!, mysterious sky; That is the very time of thinking about God & talking to Him.

Thanks to Jesus,I know such an Almighty in this epoch of history.

......Thankyou God for creating me!
